Erling Haaland has started a modeling career, following in the footsteps of his Manchester City teammate Jack Grealish.
The 22-year-old striker was photographed showing off a £4,700 Breitling watch as he was introduced as the brand’s newest face.
And as his global stardom continues to grow both on and off the field, Haaland, a self-described watch enthusiast, is slated to front a new campaign for the company later this month.
Haaland said this in regards to his affiliation with Breitling: “I’m a watch enthusiast, so I was always a great fan of the brand.”
“If you know my style, you know I always go for a clean look that can take me between my public and private life.”
“athe new Breitling I’m representing is exactly that: a watch that works for everything that I do. I can’t wait to introduce it next week and to finally wear it myself.”
Haaland’s journey toward modeling follows Grealish’s £1 million contract with Gucci by only a few months.
The Norwegian forward joins other athletes who have partnered with Breitling, including American football player Trevor Lawrence, snowboarder Chloe Kim, and NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Before leaving Dortmund at the conclusion of the previous season, Haaland purchased watches for each player of the team.
“Erling Haaland is exactly what we look for in a squad member,” said Breitling CEO Georges Kern.
“He’s a powerful performer, he’s got tremendous character, he’s completely authentic and down to earth. Erling is the absolute embodiment of Breitling’s casual and inclusive luxury.”
Haaland has already scored an astounding 22 goals for Man City in only 15 appearances.
He is also halfway to breaking the Premier League record for goals scored in a season, which is presently held by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole with a total of 34.
After defeating Brighton 3-1 last weekend, City reduced the distance between themselves and Arsenal at the top of the standings to two points.
Mikel Arteta’s team drew 1-1 with Southampton at St. Mary’s, dropping points for just the second time this year.
Erling Haaland Enroute To Break Premier League Record
If Erling Haaland keeps up his present pace, according to Pep Guardiola, he can shatter the Premier League’s single-season scoring record.
With his two goals against Brighton & Hove Albion, the Norwegian increased his total for the season to 17 goals in just 11 Premier League games during his first year at the Etihad Stadium.
With less than one-third of the season remaining, he is only six short of matching his Golden Boot total from the previous year.
With 34 goals each in 1994 and 1995, former City strikers Andy Cole and Alan Shearer currently hold the record for the most goals scored in a single season.
In contrast, Mohamed Salah’s 32 goals during the 2017–18 season set a record for most goals in a season of 38 games.
However, the City manager believes Haaland is more than capable of breaking that record, even taking into consideration any potential loss of form or injury.
