Manchester City striker Ering Haaland was caught in an unusual twist on footballing etiquette during the half-time break.

Captain Mohamed Ali Camara reached out to the Norwegian just as they headed down the tunnel and asked for his jersey.

Haaland responded immediately saying ‘you cannot do this’ but still went ahead to give the captain the jersey before entering the dressing room.

We know that players often swap their jerseys after the final whistle, but lately, players have been requesting jerseys mid-game.

Erling Haaland opened the scoring from the spot as City went 2-0 up at the break but went ahead to score a stunner in the second half.

Erling Haaland made it three for Pep Guardiola’s side with a stunner from outside of the box to ensure City took all three points.

The win saw Manchester City make it 12 points out of 4 matches in their group stage matches, maintaining an unbeaten run.

The Norwegian was substituted by Pep Guardiola in the second half of the match as City have a demanding schedule upcoming.

City’s next three games are against Chelsea – who thrashed Tottenham 4-1 – Liverpool, and Champions League match against RB Leipzig.

In December, City will face Tottenham and Aston Villa with Erling Haaland leading the attack as they round off a tricky five-match run.

While many might feel the gesture towards Erling Haaland by Camara was uncalled for, we cannot rule out players’ excitement.

Several football fans criticized the act given that Camara’s team were losing 2-0 at that point with Erling Haaland scoring one of the goals.

It looked more like he was more concerned with getting the player’s jersey rather than ensuring his team gets a point in the match.
