Norwegian International Erling Haaland has netted his 50th goal of the campaign after scoring from the penalty spot in Manchester City’s trip to the Craven Cottage on Sunday.
Haaland is the first player in the English Premier League to accrue 50 or more goals in a single campaign since 1931, smashing a 92-year record.
The 22-year-old strike also placed him level with Alan Shearer’s record for most goals in a single top-flight campaign, with the English legend scoring 34 goals for Blackburn Rovers in 1995.
That tally is shared alongside former Manchester United attacker Andy Cole who had a monstrous goal scoring season playing for Newcastle United two years prior to Shearer.

The No 9 of City put his side ahead with a calm finish from the penalty spot against 10th placed Fulham after his strike partner Julian Alvarez was dragged down in the area.
The Norwegian is Manchester City assigned penalty taker and he has been sublime
Haaland has confidently taken over penalty responsibilities at the Manchester based club. He blasted his attempt past Bernad Leno who dived the wrong way on Sunday.
The former RB Salzburg forward has been an unstoppable force during his first campaign in the top-flight of English football and throughout Europe since making the move from Borussia Dortmund last summer.
He has truly been menacing in attack and he has scored four hat tricks in the league, in addition to another in the FA Cup alongside netting a glut (5 goals) against RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League.
He is also the top goalscorer across Europe’s top five divisions, scoring more than Victor Osimhen at Napoli, Kylian Mbappe at PSG, and Harry Kane at Tottenham Hotspur.
The potent force of the Citizens has been an integral asset in helping Man City to a three-peat of Premier League titles, with Pep Guardiola’s team also trying to win a historic treble this campaign.
One record Erling Haaland May not break!
The only feat that appears beyond the reach of Erling Haaland based on current grounds is the all-time record for most goals in a single campaign in English football.

That record was set close to a century ago by Dixie Dean in 1928 and the Everton great scored 60 goals in a league campaign.
Haaland has displayed no signs of reducing the tempo in recent matches, having now netted six goals in Manchester City’s last four Premier League games, while also assisting twice in the team’s 4-1 humbling win over Arsenal on Wednesday.
The head coach of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola has enjoyed remarkable success with the Citizens and with Europe’s most potent lethal attacker at his disposal, he looks to have struck a gold mine.
Erling Braut Haaland is also the top scorer in the UEFA Champions League this campaign having netted 12 goals so far in the tournament.
He would also be eyeing the record of Cristiano Ronaldo who scored 17 goals in the 2013/14 Champions League season to lead Real Madrid to the La Decima.
Manchester City play Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on the 9th of May, the same ground where they were eliminated out of the UEFA Champions League last campaign.
However, with Erling Haaland in their fold alongside a creative force behind him, many bookmakers have tipped the Citizens as the favorites to progress to the Semi-final ahead of the 14-time champions of the competition.
