Manchester City stars Erling Haaland and Phil Foden missed Manchester City training ahead of the Premier League encounter against Brighton on April 25, 2024.
The two players’ absence in training on Tuesday, April 23, has cast doubt on their participation in the match against Brighton on Thursday.
Haaland did not participate in the FA Cup win over Chelsea after he suffered a muscular problem and was replaced in the Starting XI by Julian Alvarez.
The Norwegian striker came off before extra time in the Champions League quarterfinal second-leg match against Real Madrid.
Foden, who had played nearly 50 matches in all competitions this season, was not seen with his teammates on the training ground.
However, the good news for Manchester City fans is the return of John Stones to first-team training after he was withdrawn in halftime against Chelsea.
The England defender has dealt with a lot of injury issues, but when fit, he has always been a prominent member of the squad in their quest to win the Premier League and FA Cup this season.
The Manchester City manager has continued to manage the congested fixtures, which have seen Manchester City play two games in four days.
After their FA Cup win against Chelsea, the Spaniard slammed the unacceptable scheduling that forced the Reigning Champions of Europe to play the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea just two days after their elimination from the Champions League on penalties against Real Madrid.
Due to the fixture rescheduling, Pep Guardiola declared that some of his players would be put in the fridge to rest for the challenges to come.
The Pep Guardiola side continue to chase the Premier League title for the fourth time in a row with a visit to Amex.
The reigning Champions of England are currently in third place on the Premier League table, with six more matches to play.
The Manchester City team have the least difficult fixtures in the Premier League and are likely to clinch the fourth Premier League title on a row if they remain consistent throughout the season.
