Erling Braut Haaland is now the most successful 21-year-old striker in German Bundesliga history after scoring his 50th league goal for Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, November 27, 2021.

Haaland who just recovered from the hip flexor muscle injury that had sidelined him since mid-October started from the bench in the league game between Dortmund and Wolfsburg.

The youngster took the center stage in the 73rd minute and scored in the 80th minute to help Dortmund win 3-1.

The goal has made Haaland the youngest player in the history of the Bundesliga to score half a century of goals. He achieved the feat after making just 50 appearances in the league. The Norway international was just 21 years and 129 days old when he scored the record-making goal.

Aside from goals, since Erling Braut Haaland left RB Salzburg to join Dortmund on January 1, 2020, for a transfer fee worth €20 million, he has provided 15 assists in the German Bundesliga.

While in all competitions, Haaland who has been sidelined for weeks has scored a total number of 71 goals and provided 19 assists in 70 games in all competitions.

So far this season, the 21-year-old Norwegian striker has scored 10 goals and provided 8 assists in 7 Bundesliga games despite experiencing injury setbacks.

Though he is currently regarded as one of the best players in the world, he has not been able to achieve much in terms of winning medals. The only trophy he has been able to win since he arrived at Dortmund was the 2020-2021 DFB-Pokal.

Ralf Rangnick might help Manchester United to sign Erling Braut Haaland

Meanwhile, reports in England claimed that Manchester United is expecting that the eminent appointment of Ralf Rangnick as the club’s interim manager would help the club to sign Erling Braut Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

Haaland is one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe. He is wanted at Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United.

Next summer, he will be allowed to join any club of his choice that can pay his release clause which is worth £63million.

Hence, Ralf Rangnick who signed Erling Braut Haaland for RB Salzburg in January 2019 could make Manchester United the favorites to sign the player next summer due to his past relationship with the player and his representatives.

Haaland is expected to thrive at Manchester United since he will be competing with Edison Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo for the center forward role at the club.

Cavani and Ronaldo are in the twilight of their careers which means that the Norwegian striker would become the future of the club if he agrees to join United next summer.
