The incoming coach of Manchester United, Erik ten Hag would improve the Premier League club according to the Interim coach of the club, Ralf Rangnick.

Erik ten Hag who has coached Bayern Munich’s under-23 team and Utrecht for two seasons before he took charge of Ajax in 2017, will take charge of Manchester United immediately after the 2021-2022 season.

The 52-year-old Dutch coach made his name in the coaching world at Ajax where he has won two Eredivisie, two KNVB Cup, and one Johan Cruyff Shield.

Erik ten Hag has been consistent and good that he finished 4th in the 2019 Best FIFA Men’s Coach award and has also won the best coach in the Netherlands twice.

The fact that he likes developing young players and inspiring them to the biggest stages of club football is one of the things most football enthusiasts respect him for.

Last season, he led Ajax to beat FC Barcelona home and away and contributed to Barca’s exit from the competition. In 2019, he led Ajax to the semi-final stage of the Champions League.

Aside from that, Ajax is known for its beautiful style of attacking football that comes with a lot of speed and also has sound trackback tactics. Erik ten Hag used this style of football to help Ajax to win 23 league games, draw thrice and lose just thrice in 29 league games this season.

Ten Hag has made Ajax so strong that the club is currently topping the Dutch league with 72 points in 29 games, four points above PSV.

Ahead of the Manchester United Premier League game against Arsenal scheduled to kick off at 12:30 on Saturday, April 23, coach Ralf Rangnick admitted that though he was yet to meet the Dutch coach, he likes the coach’s style of football.

The German tactician noted that if Erik ten Hag could have full pre-season ahead of the 2022-2023 season, and he is allowed to constitute his backroom staff, the Dutch coach would do well at Old Trafford.

“We don’t know each other, we haven’t met as yet in person,” Rangnick said of Erik ten Hag. “But from what I’ve seen of him, both at Bayern Munich when he was the U23 coach and at Ajax now, I like his football.

“I am pretty positive that with a full pre-season, with having the chance to build and mold his staff and also a new team – it is obvious we will have a new team – we will see a different team and an improvement on the pitch.

“I knew that Erik was one of the candidates the board spoke to. I told them, at least from what I had seen and know from people who have worked with Erik, that I think he would be a good choice.”

Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has resumed training ahead of Manchester United’s clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

This means that the 37-year-old Portuguese football legend will be available for selection ahead of the Premier League game.

Recall that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner did not play in Manchester United’s 4-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool on April 19 because one of his children died during birth.

On Thursday, the Portugal international shared a picture on Instagram to confirm that his lover Georgina Rodriguez and his newborn daughter have reunited with the rest of his family.

Hence, Ronaldo is expected to continue to show incoming coach Erik ten Hag that he is still capable of helping Manchester United starting with the game against Arsenal on Saturday.

So far this season, Ronaldo has scored 21 goals and provided 3 assists in 35 games in all competitions for Manchester United. His contract with the club will expire on June 30, 2023.
