The Dutchman will leave Ajax at the end of the season to take over in the Old Trafford dugout from Ralf Rangnick, and he’s already scouting prospective transfer prospects.

Eriksen impressed Erik Ten Hag when he spent time training with Ajax earlier this season before signing a six-month agreement at the Brentford Community Stadium, according to the Star.

Last summer, the 30-year-old experienced a heart arrest on the pitch while playing for Denmark at Euro 2020, and as part of his recovery, he trained with his former team in the Netherlands.

Ten Hag liked what he saw and wants Eriksen to join him in Manchester, but Antonio Conte, Eriksen’s former Inter Milan manager, is keen on bringing him back to Spurs.

Eriksen played for Spurs for seven and a half years before joining Juventus in January 2020, where he won the Serie A title under Conte.

Eriksen left the Nerazzurri in December due to Italian league rules prohibiting footballers from playing with the ICD device he had inserted after his on-field breakdown at the Euros.

In his seven Premier League outings so far, he has two assists and scored his first goal for the club in a thrilling 4-1 win over Chelsea at the start of April.

Brentford has won five games and drawn one since bringing Eriksen into the starting lineup, climbing into mid-table safety.

He may have to choose between joining Ten Hag’s new era at the struggling Red Devils and reuniting with Conte at his old club in north London.
