English popstar and award-winning artist, Ed Sheeran, took out time to celebrate Ipswich’s promotion to EFL Championships from League One.

Ipswich thrashed Exeter 6-0 to seal promotion to the English second-tier for the first time in four years.

Former Manchester United U-18 coach and assistant manager, Kieran McKenna, 36, has now led the tractor boys to Championships in his first job as a first team manager.

Ed Sheeran was among the teeming fans who celebrated the landmark achievement in style.

Taking to his social media handle, Sheeran, 34, posted a clip of himself donning Ipswich shirt with the club’s badge.

He wrote, “up the football league we go.”

Sheeran is a die-hard fan of Ipswich. He is one of the sponsors of Ipswich shirt and has been following and suporting the club since his childhood before he started his music career.

Ed Sheeran was born in West Halifax, England but his childhood home is on Birchcliffe Road, near Hebden Bridge.
