Jose Mourinho is concerned about Harry Kane’s fitness, however, England’s soccer team coach, Southgate has something to say in response it.
Tottenham player and the most important player on the team, Harry Kane is on international duty with the England National team but he was restricted to just 24 match minutes in Sunday’s 2 – 1 victory over Belgium due to muscle fatigue. As a result, Jose Mourinho would prefer the star to not be used in England’s upcoming match against Belgium.
This slight scare prompted Tottenham’s coach Jose Mourinho to send a side comment over how Harry Kane is being managed, but Gareth Southgate has a different view of things.
Gareth Southgate thinks all is well with Kane and he is willing to use him in the reaming international break matches, “We don’t risk players” Southgate said, in reference to Harry Kane’s injury. However, Jose Mourinho is not in support of using Harry in England’s game on Wednesday against Denmark.
Southgate voiced his position on how he use players that are questionable or at risk of getting injured. “I don’t really understand the story because he’s been fully fit since the end of last week, just before the last game,” explained the England manager.
“He would have started the last game but hadn’t had enough training time really. He was obviously fine during the game so he’s fit, available.
“I didn’t really understand the stories that were being run so where that’s been coming from… it is certainly not the conversations we’ve been having with Spurs medically. And it is not something that is really affecting us in the camp.
“He hasn’t had an injury. He was feeling muscle soreness which can happen to athletes but there was no injury at any point.
“We don’t risk players. I’ve said this before the camp last week. I’ve been a player. My priority is always the welfare of players. We would never risk a player. We’ve ended up on very rare occasions with a couple of injuries during matches. That’s pretty much unavoidable.
“But we’ve never lost a player through an error in terms of our training loading and we pride ourselves on looking after the players.
“We want them fit, we want them as sharp as possible for the games. Our issue with Harry before Sunday’s game was to perform at the highest level. Now he’s got an additional couple of days’ training, it is not even an issue.”
Jose Mourinho wants to protect Tottenham Hotspurs’ interested and that means he want to be sure that his star player, Harry Kane will be fit and available when Tottenham faces West Ham on Sunday, October 18, 2020.
Tottenham is number 6 on the league table as of week 5 of the 2020 premier league table. They have played 4 games, won 2, lost one and drew 1.
