Endrick’s baptism has gone viral with the Real Madrid youngster and his wife Gabriely Miranda reaffirming their faith in Christianity.
In a shared post on social media, the two lovers could be seen being submerged in a pool of water as part of the baptism ceremony.
They accompanied the post with the biblical verse from Acts 2:38 which reads: “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
Endrick’s baptism shows the footballer is a devout Christian. Sources close to the forward reveal he does not miss Sunday worship and takes time to observe his religious faith despite his busy schedule.
The 18-year-old attributed his deep religious faith to the influence of his parents, who are said to be Evangelical Christians.
Endrick’s religious faith
Endrick is renowned for his famous quote about God and his impact on his life. When asked about how hebdeals with his personal issues, the footballer said he doesn’t open up his problems to anyone else except God.
He added his therapist is God in addition to his family and he takes time to pray to get his life together when down.
“Psychologists? My psychologist is God. I don’t need to open my heart to anyone else. I have God in my life, and I don’t need to vent to someone else who doesn’t even know my parents, who doesn’t even know me. So, I just have to pray. And for me, my therapists are really my family.”
Endrick’s spiritual awareness and wholesome knowledge of God is not a surprise. Brazilian footballers are renowned for their public profession of their faith and belief in God.
Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper and Brazil international Alisson Becker is a staunch and devout Christian who solders his faith to his career.
The Reds’ shot-stopper, who is currently sidelined due to injury, baptized another Brazilian footballer and former Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino in his home in Merseyside.
Firmino, who is now plying his trade in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ahli, owns a church in Brazil and regularly performs pastoral duties with his wife.
Endrick is likely to follow the same footsteps as the aforementioned Brazilian footballers. His recent baptism further affirms his commitment and dedication to his Christian faith.
The baptism came just a month after he recently wedded his wife Gabriely Miranda. The couple shared lovely footage of the ceremony with fans on social media, declaring, “They are no longer two, but one flesh, ” – a dictum they borrowed from their Christian faith.
Also, having the baptism done simultaneously with his wife Miranda shows the footballer does not only share nuptial vows but faith and spiritual awareness with the beautiful blonde.
Endrick’s Real Madrid career
Away from his faith, Endrick is struggling to find his feet in Real Madrid squad. The youngster has yet to cement his place in Los Blancos’ squad since joining the team this summer.
He has made 7 La Liga appearances for the club, scoring one goal. The Brazilian starlet will hope to rise up the pecking order at Real Madrid and nailed a regular spot in the team soon.
