Emiliano Martinez has taken a drastic step in protecting his World Cup medal from burglaries by acquiring a US guard dog used by Navy Seals, worth 20,000 euros.
Martinez is making sure his World Cup medal is guarded at all costs with a well-trained, fearsome dog for his Midlands house.
The dog weighs up to 30 kg and has also been used by other security agencies in the United States of America.
This dog has been purchased by famous athletes like Ashley Cole, Hugo Lloris, and undefeated heavyweight boxing king Tyson Fury.
Apart from protecting his gold medal, the dog will be saddled with the duties of protecting Martinez’s wife Amanda and his son Santi, who are currently in Argentina.
The Belgian Malinois are dogs chosen by the military and police; the dog played an important part in the capture of the famous terrorist Osama bin Laden.
The Aston Villa goalkeeper played an important part in helping his national team win the World Cup for the third time in their history.
His last ditch save against France and two penalties saved in the penalty shootout.
The goalkeeper’s impressive saves helped Argentina defeat the Netherlands, and Martinez made headlines for his crazy attitude on the field.
His funny celebration after winning the Golden Glove, making mockery of Kylian Mbappe, and abusing the great Netherlands manager Louis Van Gaal made him one of the most controversial personalities on the pitch.
Martinez consoled Lloris for the second time after Aston Villa’s win against Tottenham.
Martinez returned as an unused substitute against Tottenham, where Aston Villa defeated Tottenham 2-0 to stop their chance of getting into the top four in the Premier League.
Tottenham currently sits in fifth place, two points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
Martinez consoled the French goalkeeper again with a handshake after they met in the World Cup last month.
Lloris’ error gave the Unai Emery side the first goal in the 2-0 win. Emiliano Buendia scored the first goal, and Brazilian Douglas Luiz scored a clinical second goal.
However, he watched from the bench as Sweden goalkeeper Robin Olsen made excellent saves to move Aston Villa into mid-table.
Due to the Antonio Conte defeat against Aston Villa, some Tottenham fans have called the attention of club CEO David Levy to the re-appointment of Mauricio Pochettino.
Tottenham has failed to win their last two matches, and they are likely to miss out on the Champions League.
Martinez will return to on-field action when Aston Villa host relegation-battling Wolverhampton Wanderers on January 4, 2023.
Unai Emery’s team has been playing the Spanish way, completely different from Steven Gerrard’s style of play.
If the team maintains consistency, it is likely to finish in the top 10 of the Premier League.
