Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt have rejected the chance to sign former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Bundesliga outfit turned down the opportunity to sign the seven times Ballon d’Or winner while joking he has been offered to every Champions League team.

Cristiano Ronaldo fell out with Manchester United after his controversial interview with Piers Morgan.

The former Real Madrid forward slammed the owners of the Old Trafford club, the Glazers, for wrongly handling the club, placing a premium on the marketing aspect while the facilities were in ruins.

Ronaldo also blasted the new Man United manager for disrespecting him at the club.

Manchester United terminated his contract in November 2022 following the interview.

After joining Portugal national team in Qatar for the 2022 World Cup, Ronaldo is now a free agent. He has no club and has been spotted training in Real Madrid training facility after the World Cup.

Two Saudi Arabian clubs have indicated an interest in signing him with huge offers tabled. Despite the offers, Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly keen on playing in Europe instead of moving to the Middle East.

Since last summer, Cristiano Ronaldo has been on the lookout for a new club and was turned down by the likes of Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Napoli.

Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt also said no to Ronaldo, 37, with bosses at the club hinting that the superstar was becoming desperate.

Executive board member Axel Hellmann indicated Ronaldo was offered to several clubs across Europe.

He told DAZN: “He was even offered to us”. while Philip Holzer, chairman of the club’s supervisory board, added: “I have the feeling he was offered to every Champions League club.”

Cristiano Ronaldo is keen on playing Champions League football for as long as possible, but no club is willing to sign him.

With top European Leagues set to resume the 2022/23 football season after the World Cup break, Ronaldo may likely turn to the lucrative offers from the Middle East if no offer comes for him in the January transfer window.

He has reportedly been offered a two-and-a-half year contract worth £173million-a-year with Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Nassr.

Sporting Lisbon have also been linked to the striker, but manager Ruben Amorim is now refusing to be drawn into speculation on Ronaldo’s future.

As things stand, the legendary Manchester United forward and five times Ballon d’Or winner is on the twilights of his career.

Nevertheless, he is still keen on playing in Euros 2024 when he clocks 39. Ronaldo offered little for Portugal in the 2022 World Cup. He scored only one goal and was embroiled in controversies.

Portugal crashed out of the 2022 World Cup, losing by a lone goal to a less-fancied African side Morocco. He was benched twice by Fernandes Santos and reportedly clashed with the manager for leaving him out of the starting lineup against Switzerland.
