Former Atletico Madrid and Benfica right-winger, Eduardo Salvio has landed himself in trouble in Argentina. Magali Aravena, the estranged wife of the 31-year-old Argentine footballer who currently plays for Boca Juniors, alleged that the football star ran over her with his car.

Eduardo Salvio’s troubles started on Thursday morning when he was in his car with another unidentified woman. It was at that point Magali Aravena came across her estranged husband and tried to have a conversation with him while standing by the footballer’s car.

After a while, Aravena tried to gain access to Salvio’s car. During that process, the footballer drove away leaving the Argentine woman on the ground.

Reports claimed that when Eduardo Salvio drove away, one of the car’s tyres hit Aravena’s leg and left her injured.

A police spokesman said: “The woman went over to speak with her husband, who was in his car with another woman.

“The suspect drove forward, and struck Mrs. Aravena.”

The Argentine model remained on the ground until an ambulance came and treated her on the spot. Fortunately for her, the injury was not bad enough to end her at the hospital.

Buenos Aires ambulance chief Alberto Crescenti said: “We were called by city police, and found a woman with trauma to her lower right leg.

“However the injury was light, and she wasn’t taken to hospital.”

After she was treated, Magali Aravena decided to file a police complaint later that same day, April 14, 2022, claiming that the footballer hit her with his car and ran away.

Then, it was reported that Eduardo Salvio did not only run away from his estranged wife after the incident, but he also ran away from the police.

At the early stage of the scandal, a source close to the investigation said: “Prosecutors are working to collect evidence. Salvio won’t escape from the police.

“They have learned about what happened from the report his wife made.”

On Thursday night, April 14, Eduardo Salvio appeared at a prosecutor’s office in Buenos Aires to claim that he was never on the run, adding that he could present enough evidence to prove that he was not guilty.

After his appearance at the prosecutor’s office, a judiciary spokesman informed him that he has been banned from driving for 30 days. Eduardo Salvio has been ordered to avoid any contact with Aravena and to stay away from her as far as 900 feet. More so, he is expected to notify the prosecutor’s office in case he has to leave Argentina.
