Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, is claimed to trust winger Eden Hazard and is willing to give him a “second opportunity” at the Santiago Bernabeu. According to Spanish news agency SPORT, Perez is willing to give the Belgian another chance if the club does not sign Erling Haaland.

Eden Hazard has been rumored to have a surprise return to Chelsea after quitting the west London club for Real Madrid for almost £100 million in the summer of 2018. The 31-year-move old’s to the Bernabeu has not gone well for him, owing to his persistent injury concerns.

Of course, there have been whispers of a dramatic return to Chelsea. The Blues were ready to evaluate the likelihood of re-signing Hazard before the UK government enforced sanctions on owner Roman Abramovich after his country, Russia, invaded Russia which the media termed an “Unprovoked Invasion”.

With little over two years left on his contract in Madrid, he is poised to be afforded another, but final, chance by President Perez. This, although, is conditional on Los Blancos completing the signing of Haaland this summer.

Haaland is slated to leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season, with a slew of European clubs bidding for his services. Madrid is one of the frontrunners to sign him, and selling Hazard might help them finance the Dortmund attacker.

Hazard, as noted previously, has had injury issues during his nearly four years with Real Madrid. On Tuesday, the Belgium international had surgery to remove an osteosynthesis plate from his right fibula.
