Eddie Howe has tested negative for coronavirus less than two weeks after it was confirmed that the football manager has contracted the virus.

Recall that Eddie Howe was appointed the manager of Newcastle United earlier in the month to replace sacked coach Steve Bruce.

A day before his first league game in charge of Newcastle United, the club announced that Howe would not be available for the match because he contracted coronavirus.

In his absence, assistant coach Jason Tindall and Graeme Jones were appointed to take charge of the league game which was against Brentford on November 20. The game which took place at St. James’ Park ended in a 3-3 draw.

Initially, it was expected that Eddie Howe would not be available for the game between Arsenal and Newcastle United. But to the surprise of many, Newcastle United announced that the coach is ready for the league game.

The game which is expected to kick off at 13:30 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, November 27, is Newcastle United’s 13th Premier League game this season.

In the club’s last 12 Premier League games, Newcastle have managed to record 6 draws and 6 defeats. They are the only Premier League club that are yet to record a win in the league this season.

Hence, they are sitting at the bottom of the league table with 6 points in 12 games, 5 points away from safety. Based on this, the club which is now owned by a consortium that is worth £320 billion needs everyone’s brain at the club to prevent the club from being relegated.

In a short statement, the club shared on Twitter earlier today to announce that Eddie Howe is fit for Arsenal vs Newcastle game, the club wrote: “#NUFC can confirm that Eddie Howe will be in the dugout for tomorrow’s game at the Emirates Stadium after returning a negative Covid test this morning.”

Also, the club’s assistant coach, Jason Tindall who represented Howe in the pre-match press conference earlier today confirmed that the club’s coach is now feeling better. He also confirmed that there was no new covid-19 case at the club.

He said: “From my own experiences when I had Covid a couple of months ago, I had no symptoms to start with and it was only after about eight or nine days where it hit me really hard and I began to struggle.

“But from how Eddie was, I’d say Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, in comparison to how he’s now feeling and the tone of his voice the latter part of this week, there’s been a big difference…

“Thankfully, we’re okay, there have been no more positive cases. When one person gets it, you do worry a little bit, but thankfully we’ve tested every single day this week as a group of players and staff and everybody has come through fine.”
