According to reports in Italy, the transfer fee could increase from £66.6 million to £88 million when add-ons are included in the transfer deal.
Though Fiorentina have reportedly accepted Arsenal’s offer for the services of Dusan Vlahovic, reports claimed that the 21-year-old Serbian striker is yet to make up his mind concerning the move.
Reports in Italy claimed that Vlahovic who is regarded as one of the hottest youngsters in Europe wished to stay at Fiorentina for one more season. That means that the youngster intends to stay at the Italian club until his current contract expires on June 30, 2023.
After the expiration of the contract, Dusan Vlahovic reportedly plans to join Juventus on a free transfer in the summer of 2023. But it would be almost impossible for Fiorentina to allow such a plan to materialize especially now that Arsenal have made a mouth-watering £66.6 million offer.
Recall that Dusan Vlahovic has reportedly said he wishes to play at a club that plays in the UEFA Champions League. Unfortunately for Arsenal, the Premier League club are currently not playing in any European club competition.
However, Arsenal are currently doing so well that they could end up in a Champions League or Europa League spot before the current 2021-2022 season ends.
Currently, Arsenal are occupying the 5th spot with 35 points in 20 games, they are just two points away from 4th placed West Ham United with two games in hand. Hence, coach Mikel Arteta and his boys have a 70 percent chance of making it into the top four.
Since it was announced that Fiorentina have accepted Arsenal’s offer for the services of Dusan Vlahovic, Arsenal’s fans have been so excited that the club’s squad has been strengthened for the remaining part of the 2021-2022 season.
But reports claimed that Vlahovic might insist on staying at Fiorentina until next summer which would be bad news for Arsenal fans that are already expecting the arrival of the Serbian striker.
“Arsenal are trying to sign Vlahović since October – but Dusan is still planning to leave in summer, not now”, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said. “Nothing has changed yet. Really complicated negotiation on player/agents side.”

Apart from the potential arrival of Dusan Vlahovic, coach Mikel Arteta would be excited that he would soon have Thomas Partey and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang available for selection
Coach Mikel Arteta of Arsenal will be excited that his midfielder, Thomas Partey will return to the club this week. The midfielder has been away with Ghana’s national team since the first week of January due to the ongoing AFCON.
Ghana was knocked out of AFCON on Tuesday by minnows Comoros which means that Thomas Partey’s stay away from Arsenal is over.
Also, Arsenal’s former captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected back to the club this week after a covid-19 infection and a heart condition forced him out of the national team of Gabon.
It has been confirmed that the heart condition is not serious which means that it might not have to be sidelined for too long before he would return to action.
