Freiburg have officially signed Junior Adamu, a forward from RB Salzburg, for an undisclosed fee estimated to be between €8m-€10m.
The 22-year-old has signed a long-term deal with Christian Streich’s team but the club has decided not to disclose the full details of the contract.
Junior Adamu’s acquisition comes after Kevin Schade and Mark Flekken left the team permanently to join Brentford.
Streich aims to bolster his team in a few key areas before the window closes, to heighten their performance next season and contend for a spot in the Champions League.
Although West Ham and other Bundesliga clubs showed interest, Die Breisgau successfully convinced the Austrian international to join them in the Black Forest.

The Nigerian-born possesses an intense style of play and exhibits good moves towards opportunities to score.
Jochen Saier, one of Freiburg’s board members stated that they are very pleased to have him at the club.
He said: “Like all of our young players, he still has significant potential for development.”
“We aim to maximize the potential of this opportunity through collaboration. We are optimistic about the future due to his positive attitude and our effective work approach, we are very pleased.”
Adamu commented on the signing, stating that SC Freiburg have a strong reputation in Austria, which was further confirmed through his discussions with individuals who are knowledgeable about the club.
He said: “My goal is to improve my skills and establish myself as a strong player in the German Bundesliga. Freiburg is the ideal location for that.”
Adamu was a member of the Salzburg team that won the Austrian Bundesliga by a margin of seven points, having suffered only one defeat throughout the entire season.
