Dimitar Berbatov said he believes that Jadon Sancho is running out of time at Manchester United and may have overestimated his importance when he spoke against his manager Erik ten Hag.
Jadon Sancho found himself out of favor when he declared on social media that he was being made a scapegoat by the Dutch manager after the English player was drooped following his performance in training.
After his controversial declaration that was published on his social media handle, he denounced Ten Hag as being a liar.
Since then, the former Borussia Dortmund winger has been banished from the club’s first-team, training ground, and even the club dining table.
Sancho has been training with the United youth team until further notice following his bizarre relationship with the club’s head coach.
The England International was asked to ask for forgiveness from his manager but he refused.
Unless the 23-year-old admits guilt to his head coach, it seems that his career with the Old Trafford outfit is over, with several European clubs believed to be weighing up a January transfer for the former Manchester City academy product.
The England International winger has not played for Manchester United since the burst-up with Ten Hag and has reportedly declined to make peace with the 53-year-old Dutchman for his public statements.
Dimitar Berbatov has suggested that Jadon Sancho now faces an uncertain future at the club.
The former United frontman said that the 23-year-old winger made an improper decision when he chose to go public with his complaints.
Speaking to reports, Berbatov said; “Sometimes a player and I hope this isn’t the case for Sancho, who takes this long to resolve conflict and has overestimated his own value to the club”.
“When it’s Ronaldo, for example, it’s different as he’s achieved everything. I was at the club when Wayne Rooney had a fallout with the manager, and they sorted things out. I think Sancho is overestimating his importance. He’s not won that many trophies with them. It’s a different situation.”
He added, “United can easily decide to get rid of Sancho over this. As talented as he is, and we all saw it at Dortmund, he has yet to show any of this at United”.
Jadon Sancho has been struggling to find his good form in the starting XI since his 73 million pounds move from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021.
He has registered just 12 goals in 82 matches for the Old Trafford outfit across all competitions.
The former Red Devils striker also assumed that United must take some responsibility for their incapability to get the best out of the talented young man.
Berbatov further added, “The club has to ask itself questions, too, asking whether they made the player feel comfortable and if they gave him the right environment”.
What’s next for Jadon Sancho?
It is unclear if the former Manchester City player will ever play for Manchester United again as things are going between him and Ten Hag, the Red Devils are also reported to be willing to let him leave the club in January at a low price deal.
