Angel Di Maria has used social media to dispel rumors that he wants to quit Juventus after only a few months with the team.

Despite rumors suggesting that he might join Rosario Central during the January transfer window, Angel Di Maria made it clear that he intended to remain with Juventus.

Di Maria probably didn’t expect the kind of start to life in Turin when he joined the team in the summer. The 34-year-old has still highlighted that he is content in Serie A, despite numerous speculations that he plans to finally return to his old team in Argentina, Rosario Central, in January.

In a recent interview with CONMEBOL, the Argentine winger expressed his wish to eventually return to Rosario. The interview didn’t come at a good moment for Di Maria or Juventus because it coincided with the period Juventus were out of the Champions League after losing to Benfica 4-3 earlier this week.

Di Maria addressed the rumors that he would transfer from Juventus to Rosario Central during the January transfer window in a post on his Instagram page recently.

With Juventus, the 34-year-old Di Maria has not had the best of starts, spending the majority of his time on the sidelines as a result of injuries and a ban.

The club’s fans are frustrated because the Argentine winger, who made his debut for the team with a goal and an assist, hasn’t since done much to help the dwindling fortune of the team.

Di Maria posted a picture of himself with Juventus teammates celebrating a goal along with the following statement to his Instagram account:

“I am not used to giving answers when I read these lies, but it is time to do so. I don’t know who started the rumors that I’m leaving in January.

“The statements I’ve made recently which you may have read or heard about retiring at Rosario Central (the club I left) are ones I’ve been saying since I came to play in Europe in 2007.

“I am pleased with this great club and in this city, and when I am fit again, I will give the team my all as I always did when I played here and in all the other teams I was at. Please stop making up the news. This does not mean that I want to leave TODAY or in January.

“Please don’t believe everything you read because it doesn’t help and merely tarnishes my name and the name of the club. I love playing football, not watching them from home. I appreciate it very much.”

This season, the Italian goliaths are having trouble. They were eliminated from the Champions League on Tuesday night, and after 11 games, they aren’t doing much better at home, now lying seventh in Serie A.

Given such elements, it is not surprising that information about Di Maria’s future has been made public even though he has denied it.

In the short term, the seasoned winger will be hoping to assist Juventus in moving up the domestic standings while making sure the team is not eliminated from Europe totally by at least dropping into the Europa League next week. The following World Cup, which is undoubtedly his last, will see him try to add to his 123 appearances for Argentina.
