Dele Alli, former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder was filmed in a hospital bed after undergoing surgery on his hip.

Earlier this week, the 27-year-old England International shocked the football world when a picture emerged online showing him seated before a table filled with nitrous oxide canister.

The football player was seen with a balloon in his mouth next to enormous bottles of laughing gas in the image, which was circulated on social media under the guise of showing Alli inside a Salford apartment.

And after a photo of him with a balloon in his mouth appeared on social media, he has now come under fire once more.

He acknowledged that his surgery went well while he announced he is stepping away from social media to concentrate on his comeback to football.

Alli said on his Instagram page in a statement that reads; “Surgery done, all successful and okay”

“Thanks to everyone of you, who has sent me messages of support”.

He added; “It’s been a tough few weeks and I want to ensure I’m doing everything I can to focus fully on my recovery. I’m gonna take a break from socials and hit my recovery hard, and come at full strength. I will be back when I’m ready. See you all soon”.

After undergoing hip surgery, the former Tottenham player delivered an update on Saturday from his hospital bed, reiterating that his season in Turkey has ended.

In the snapshot, Dele Alli gave a thumbs-up and grinned, cutting a laid-back figure at the hospital.

The Everton player, who spent a disappointing season on loan at Besiktas, was diagnosed with a hip muscle ailment earlier this week and will miss the remaining part of the season.

Alli was originally thought to be one of the brightest stars of the future because of his past performances for Tottenham Hotspur in the 2019 Champions League final and for England against Croatia in the 2018 World Cup semifinal.

However, the attacking midfielder joined Everton on a free transfer in January 2022 after losing favor in north London under former Spurs manager Jose Mourinho. However, he struggled to make an impact at Goodison Park.

Alli has a contract with Everton till the end of the next season.

Before going on loan to Besiktas last summer, Dele Alli only made 13 appearances for the Toffees. Since then, he has only participated in 13 league games in Turkey.

He scored three goals in the 15 games played for the Turkish team in all competitions.

Senol Gunes, the manager of Besiktas, asserted in March that Dele Alli had vanished and was not returning calls before Alli himself clarified on social media that the club had permitted him to attend a doctor’s appointment in England.
