According to the manager of Besiktas, Senol Gunes, former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has gone Absent Without Leave in Turkey and he isn’t picking his calls to give feedback to Beskitas on his whereabouts.

Dele has battled a push back and a crumbling down from his impressive standards since his amazing years with Spurs in the English Premier League.

During his early days in England, he was one of the country’s best talents having graduated through the ranks in 2015.

However, he has faced a rapid nosedive in his footballing career in the last five years. Dele Alli signed for Everton on a free transfer in 2022 but he could not perform optimally for the club.

Everton have afterwards loaned him to Turkish League side Besiktas in order to rediscover his lost form and come back better.

But his campaign in the country has been ruined by poor performances and he has failed to dazzle the manager of Besiktas to nail a starting shirt.

The Englishman was formerly expected to return to Goodison Park in the summer of 2023 but according to information circulating Besiktas are facing difficulty keeping him in control.

Nevertheless, this claim has been denied by the Camp of Dele Alli as his representatives expressed that he had been given permission by the team to travel back to London for an appointment with a doctor.

Dele took to his instagram account to reveal his own side of the story as he wrote: “Hey guys just had loads of messages so wanted to clear something up.

“The club gave me permission to attend a doctor’s appointment today. I’m due back in training tomorrow as normal.”

Senol Gunes has indicated that Dele Alli who was allowed some time away from training may not have come back to the club because it’s raining.

Gunes said: “We hope that Tayyip Talha will recover in ten days.

“Rosier will start training next week and Gedson will start training at the weekend.

“Dele Alli could not come at this time. It’s raining, I guess that’s why he couldn’t come. We’re trying to hear from him . We could not reach him by phone. Hopefully he didn’t have an accident.”

This is occurring weeks after the midfielder was expelled from the team and informed to watch the remaining matches of the campaign from the stands.

The manager of Besiktas had bashed Dele Alli in January, stating that the on loan midfielder from Everton does not deserve to play.

Senol Gunes had also openly lambasted the former Tottenham Hotspur man for his horrendous performances in November after substituting him at half-time against Umraniyespor.

Gunes said: “I couldn’t affect the players yet, now I can easily get through to them, but we haven’t got through to Dele Alli yet.

“Let’s not discuss Dele Alli as a player, but he is below expectations in terms of efficiency.”

Dele Alli has appeared in only 254 minutes since the beginning of the year and he has not played a match since the 26th of February when he featured for only 45 minutes in a 0-0 draw against Antalyaspor.

Dele Alli is facing challenges in his football career

The midfielder is facing serious battles in his football career after his impressive heights under former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino.

But after Pochettino left Spurs, the midfielder has seemingly lost his verve and hunger for the round leather game. He was highly bashed by Jose Mourinho who took charge of the club after the dismissal of Mauricio Pochettino.

Jose Mourinho was appointed the next manager of Spurs after Pochettino and during his early days at the club he accused Dele Alli of playing like “Dele’s brother”, with Jose Mourinho wanting him to show his true quality.

After the comments by Jose Mourinho, he picked up in form but he followed that improvement with a drop in form and performance afterwards.

Last Friday, Dele Alli met with Kim Kardashian and he took pictures with her 7-year-old son Saint, the day after she had taken her son to watch the Gunners Europa League loss to Sporting Lisbon.

Dele has played 15 matches for Beskitas since his arrival to the Turkish club and he has scored on three different occasions.
