    Nigerian music star, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido has tagged six Nigerian football stars who contributed to his 200 million naira birthday fund.

    The six Nigerian football stars he tagged are Olympiacos and Super Eagles winger Henry Onyekuru, former Super Eagles player, Obafemi Martins, and Everton star, Alex Iwobi.

    Others are Super Eagles and Leicester City duo, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi; and Asisat Oshoala, the captain of Nigeria’s female national team who currently plays for FC Barcelona female team.

    Though Davido did not specify the amount every one of them contributed to the birthday fund, it is being speculated that they all sent nothing less than one million naira each to the Nigerian music star.

    The whole donation trend started on Wednesday, November 17, when Davido took to his Instagram and Twitter pages to announce that he aimed to raise N200 million from his fans and colleagues ahead of his 29th birthday which will come up on November 21, 2021.

    In his tweet, the Nigerian musician urged his fans to send him money if they know that they have gotten a hit song from him. He followed up the tweet with another tweet containing his full name and an account number.

    He reportedly intends to use part of the donation to clear his Rolls Royce from the port and to celebrate his birthday on Sunday.

    Within 24 hours after he made the call on social media, the musician received over 100 million naira donations from his fans and colleagues.

    At the time of publishing this report, Davido has received over N184 million barely after two days of asking for the donation.

    Apart from the six footballers that participated in the donation, a couple of A-list Nigerian celebrities and public figures also participated in the trend.

    Some of the donors who have been identified include Zlatan, Adekunle Gold, Mr. Eazi, Nengi, Chike, Teni, Charles of Play, Cubana Chiefpriest, Naira Marley, M.I, Phyno, Eniola Badmus, Oba Elegushi, Baba Ali, and Peruzzi.

    Others include Pasuma, Toke Makinwa, Don Jazzy, MC Galaxy, Ned Okonkwo, Ubi Franklin, Bella Shmurda, Oba Elegushi, Rema, Tunde Ednut, Larry Gaaga, Dorathy Bachor, Bizzle Osikoya, Obi Cubana, Otedola, and many others.
