In an attempt to compete for the Bundesliga title next season, Borussia Dortmund intend to sign 24-year-old German and Hoffenheim player, David Raum.

The likes of Karim Adeyemi from RB Salzburg, Niklas Sule from Bayern Munich, and Nico Schlotterbeck from SC Freiburg have all completed their permanent transfers to the Signal Iduna Park.

Borussia Dortmund is still looking to bring in more players to their club ahead of next season and Hoffenheim’s left-back, David Raum is reportedly a major target.

Reports suggest that the Yellow Submarines made contact with his camp in April. Their interest in the left-back seems concrete but the transfer fee might prove to be a problem for Borussia Dortmund.

David Raum signed for Hoffenheim on a free transfer in 2021 from Greuther Furth. His contract includes a release clause of €30m and Borussia Dortmund are not prepared to offer such an amount for the player.

Raum’s current contract runs until 2026 after agreeing on a contract extension with TSG Hoffenheim in the January Transfer window.

Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing David Raum

Despite the sale of Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho in the past few years, the Yellow Submarines are said to be struggling to balance their books to keep the club running.

It is rumored that Borussia Dortmund are willing to sacrifice Raphael Guerreiro, Nico Schulz, and Manuel Akanji, to fund a move for David Raum this summer.

Whatever the outcome might be this summer, Borussia Dortmund will keep an eye on him in the future if they fail to agree a deal with TSG Hoffenheim.

The young talented left-back had an excellent season with TSG Hoffenheim last season. In the 2021/2022 football campaign, David Raum found the back of the net three times and provided thirteen assists in 32 league games for Hoffenheim.

The 24-year-old left-back will be willing to move to Borussia Dortmund, as he wants to play Champions League football next season.
