David Neres is no longer in Ukraine after the Brazilian boarded a train with fellow countrymen from his new employees Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kyiv and arrived on Sunday.
On Sunday, the former Ajax player boarded a train to Romania with fellow Brazilian players from his new team Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kyiv.
Neres and a few compatriots pose in front of a bus in Romania, according to a photo posted on Twitter and Instagram.
Brazilians have recently demanded that their government evacuate them from Ukraine as quickly as feasible.
The 24-year-old Neres, who joined Shakhtar from Ajax in January for at least 12 million euros, has been staying in a hotel in Kiev, which is under Russian attack.
On Friday, Neres and his Shakhtar comrades issued a scream for help throughout the world. “There are no flights and the borders are closed.” We’re stuck in this place. We request the Brazilian government’s assistance.”
He and a group of countrymen were able to flee Ukraine after a few days.
Due to the war, the Ukrainian tournament, which was scheduled to start shortly after the winter break, has been logically postponed until further notice.
Because of the instability in the Donetsk region, Neres has yet to play an official game for Shakhtar, which has been playing its games in Kiev for years.
