In what he described as the “error of his youth’,” it appears the 51-year-old is struggling to straighten his relationship with his daughter Joy Pinquier.

Pinquier was born as a lovechild for David Ginola who was just cohabiting with his mother Joelle while being officially married to Caroline Ginola.

After the birth of Pinquier, who is now expecting his first child, David Ginola vigorously denied the paternity of the child, insisting he was not the father.

He had to be dragged to court by Joelle to pay child support after he abandoned the duo to their plight. Worst of all, David Ginola refused the DNA test as put forward by Joelle.

However, he finally accepted that he is the father of Joy Pinquier but it took him 28 years to do so.

Joy Pinquier narrates her ordeal in David Ginola’s hands

Joy Pinquier has claimed David Ginola doesn’t want anything to do with her baby. She claims the 57-year-old retired footballer had initially sent his congratulations to her when she told him in April he was set to be a grandfather.

“I sent a WhatsApp message letting him know he is going to be a grandfather.

“He replied, ‘Congratulations, I’m happy for you and your partner.’ But he is still refusing to see me or play a role in my life.”

She also claimed the footballer had since cut off all contact with her after she sent him an ultrasound scan of his yet-to-be-born granddaughter in August.

“I’ve told him that he can deny my existence as much as he wishes, but my child will always have his DNA.”

Pinquier added that he had first contacted him on Instagram following his stint on I’m A Celeb back in 2021.

According to her, the former Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United winger finally acknowledged her in an emotional first meeting in Marseille in 2021.

Despite his promises, the pair met again. Joy said David never got back in contact and is abandoning her and the unborn child.

She said he doesn’t seem to have an interest in her or her child.

Though she admitted she would like them to bond and be a family and can’t understand why he doesn’t appear to want that.

David Ginola complex personal and family life

David Ginola has two children with Caroline Ginola, Andrea 31 and Carla 29. He divorced the latter in 2016 after over two decades of marriage and is reportedly dating 35-year-old model Maeva Denat, whom he also has a child with.

Ginola, who has also tried acting and is currently working as a football pundit, has been notorious for his mixed and arcane personality. Despite his great technical abilities, he could not play for over three seasons for one club due to frequent clashes and fallouts with his teammates and coaches.

Coming out from hibernation and later ghosting Joy Pinquier further highlights his controversial personality and the difficulties of settling for a stable private life.
