Manchester United legend David de Gea could be set for a sensational move to MLS.
The Florida-based MLS franchise, Inter Miami, co-owned by another Manchester United David Beckham are reportedly lining up a move for the Man United legend.
A move to the burgeoning elite football league in US could be very appealing for David de Gea after his blighted spell with Manchester United.
The 33-year-old is yet to land a new deal after he was unceremoniously released by Manchester United when his contract expired in June 2023.
He has been linked to top clubs in Europe but nothing has materialized.
Inter Milan who sold David de Gea’s replacement Andre Onana to Man United were interested in the Spaniard but faced a hiccup on agreeing personal terms with the goalkeeper.
Bayern Munich were also in the picture of clubs interested in a move for the player but it was still a blackout.
Also, a juicy offer from Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia was on the table for the highly-rated goalkeeper. The 2022/23 Saudi Pro League runners-up reportedly splashed a whooping £500,000 weekly wage offer for David de Gea.
A move to the elite Saudi outfit could have afforded de Gea a chance to reunite with old teammate and now Al Nassr frontman Cristiano Ronaldo, including Alex Telles but his wife Edurne Garcia objected to the move as she did not want to move to Saudi Arabia.
De Gea has now attracted interests from La Liga clubs with Real Betis and Valencia interested in signing him, including Lionel Messi’s MLS side Inter Miami.
According to Daily Star, Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham is hopeful of bringing de Gea to Inter Miami as he sets out to make the Spaniard his next big signing.
Beckham is reportedly optimistic of luring David de Gea, who has rejected a mega offer from Al Nassr, to the MLS.
Beckham’s chances of signing David de Gea is not in doubt after he pulled a major coup and signed Lionel Messi as a free agent from PSG in the summer.
Beckham also signed two other Barcelona legends Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets in addition to Leo in a heady and robust summer for Inter Miami.
