Leeds United left-winger, Daniel James has taken to his Instagram page to flaunt his newborn baby boy whose name is yet to be revealed.

In an Instagram post he shared on Monday, the newborn baby boy could be seen lying on the bed while the former Manchester United winger and the mother of the child, Ria Hughes laid hands on the baby.

In the caption, Daniel James confirmed that the baby boy was born on September 21, 2021, a day he described as the best day of his life. The 23-year-old Walsh footballer went on to describe his lover, Ria Hughes as the best mother.

He wrote: “21.09.21🌍🤍 The best day of our lives bringing our son into the world. I couldn’t be prouder of my girl, we love you so much, You really are the best mum.”

On the day the baby boy was born, Daniel James had a Carabao Cup third-round game to play against Fulham in London.

Despite such an important game, the coach of Leeds United, Marcelo Bielsa permitted James to travel to Manchester to witness the birth of his first son.

The baby arrived later than expected, few hours before the kick-off of the Carabao Cup game between Leeds and Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Hence, the Wales international had to fly to London via a helicopter to get to the match venue before the kick-off time.

Fortunately for him, he got to the stadium early enough for the game and his coach deemed him fit to play. Daniel James played the entire 90 minutes and was even selected to be among the penalty takers when the game had to be decided by penalties.

It became a double blessing for Daniel James as he ended up scoring his spot-kick and his team won 5-6 on penalties.

After the game, Daniel James described the day as a “whirlwind day” in which he had to witness the birth of his son and was able to play a part in Leeds United’s win over Fulham.

“Thankfully I got to see the birth of my child today plus get to the game tonight”, he said. “It’s been a bit of a whirlwind day, and one that I’ll always remember.”

Speaking further, James revealed how his baby boy was born on Tuesday afternoon, September 21, and still had to play a competitive game a few hours after he left the hospital.

“My baby boy was born this afternoon, thank you to the manager for letting me be in Manchester for that”, he said.

“Absolutely amazing day for me and the Mrs, so proud of her and it was a late one, something we could not change.

“The manager let me do it so I was able to be there for the birth of my baby and come to the game tonight.

“He was born just after 12, the car would have been a bit too long so I ended up getting a helicopter. A bit of an amazing story and one I will always remember…

“We don’t have a name yet and will think of a name when we get home.”

Daniel James joined Leeds United from Manchester United on August 31, 2021, for a transfer fee worth €29.10 million when it was obvious that he would not get regular game time at Old Trafford.

Since he arrived at Leeds United, the 23-year-old Wales international has been a prominent figure at the club. His contract with the club will expire on June 30, 2026.
