Crystal Palace have made a second summer signing with the addition of Japan midfielder Daichi Kamada on a two-year deal.
The 27-year-old Kamada has joined Palace from Italian club Lazio on a free transfer after a successful stint in Serie A.
The midfielder previously worked under Palace manager Oliver Glasner at Eintracht Frankfurt where they achieved Europa League success.
Following his reunion with Oliver Glasner at Selhurst Park, Kamada shared his happiness on social media.
The Japanese wrote: “I am excited to embark on this new challenge in the Premier League and hope to contribute to the club’s success.”
Palace chairman Steve Parish also commended Kamada, who is coming to Palace with a wealth of experience and an international pedigree of 33 caps for Japan.
Steve Parish said: “Daichi is a truly exceptional talent.”
“He has been one of Europe’s best attacking midfielders in recent seasons and his experience, technical quality, and commitment mark him out as an excellent addition to our already talented squad.”
Crystal Palace first summer signing Chadi Riad
Meanwhile, Kamada is Crystal Palace’s second signing of the 2024 summer transfer window following the arrival of Morocco international Chadi Riad.
Chadi Riad joined Palace in a deal reportedly worth £12m plus £2m in add-ons.
The 20-year-old player, who initially joined Real Betis on loan from Barcelona and later signed a permanent deal, has now signed with the Eagles until June 2029.
Riad played in 30 games for Betis last season, contributing to their seventh-place finish in La Liga.
Both newcomers will now be part of Selhurst Park’s push to improve on last season’s 10th-placed finish in the Premier League campaign last season.
Ryan Sessegnon set to join Crystal Palace as a free agent
Meanwhile, former Tottenham star Ryan Sessegnon is training with Crystal Palace to sign as a free agent.
The 24-year-old talented winger, who spent five years at Spurs, is hoping to join the club as the third signing under Oliver Glasner.
The potential signing of Sessegnon will add another exciting dimension to Palace’s attacking options, as they look to build on their recent achievements in the Premier League.
What fans should expect
Crystal Palace fans have every reason to be excited for the upcoming season with the recent signings of Chadi Riad, Kamada, and Sessegnon.
The addition of these talented players to the squad is a clear indication of the club’s ambition to make a strong impact in the English top flight.
Chadi Riad brings a wealth of experience and skill to the team, while Kamada’s creativity and vision in midfield will undoubtedly add a new dimension to Palace’s attacking play.
Meanwhile, Sessegnon who is known for his pace and versatility will provide solid options in defense and attack.
With these signings, Palace is set to continue their upward trajectory in the Premier League.
Palace won six of their final seven Premier League games in the 2023-24 campaign and they will hope to continue with that incredible feat in the upcoming Premier League season.
With the guidance of manager Oliver Glasner coupled with experienced players and young talents, Crystal Palace look set for a successful season ahead.
This is wonderful.
