Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nassr has shifted the power ranking of teams with the most number of followers on social media.
From the list, as revealed by the 467th CIES Football Observatory Weekly Post, Real Madrid are top of the rankings with about 410.9million across all social media platforms.
Further details reveal Real Madrid recorded an unparalleled spike in social media following, more than any other club with about 48million new followers since 2023.
Another LaLiga giant Barcelona are second on the list with 360.7million followers. The Catalans reportedly raked in new 18.4million followers since 2023.
Premier League side Manchester United are third on the ranking with 216.3million followers. French Ligue 1 giants PSG are fourth on the log with 184.1million followers. They reportedly lost 2.7million followers following the exit of Lionel Messi and Neymar in 2023. The Ligue 1 giants are also expected to lose some followers with Kylian Mbappe now exiting the club.
Another Premier League representative and 2023-24 champions Manchester City completes the top five clubs on the ranking. City boasts 154.8million followers.
From the 6th to the 10th, Premier League clubs dominate with Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal breaking into the top 10. The English club’s chain in the bottom five list on the top 10 scale is broken by Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in 9th place with 137.1million followers and Juventus in 6th place with 155million followers [ lists below]
