Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has welcomed his lover, Georgina Rodriguez and his newborn daughter home for the first time since one of his sons died.

Recall that in December 2021, Cristiano Ronaldo took to his Instagram page with over 400 million followers to announce that he and Georgina Rodriguez were expecting twins boy and a girl.

Unfortunately, on April 16, 2022, Cristiano Ronaldo took to his Instagram page to announce that one of the twins (the boy) had died during the process of delivery.

Immediately Ronaldo made the announcement, almost everyone associated with football took to social media to wish him and his lover well. Even rival clubs like Liverpool and Manchester City did not fail to send a message of support via social media.

Ronaldo lost the boy at birth about two days after he helped Manchester United to beat Norwich City 3-2 in a Premier League game by scoring a hat-trick. The announcement came a day before Manchester United’s Premier League game against Liverpool.

Due to the demise of Ronaldo’s son, Manchester United had to go into the game without the 37-year-old five-time Ballon d’Or winner who is currently the club’s highest goalscorer this season.

In the 7th minute of the game both the fans of Manchester United and Liverpool at Anfield stadium united to pay tribute to Ronaldo by clapping in unity. Liverpool’s fans at the stadium took it a step further by singing the legendary “You Will Never Walk Away” anthem specifically for Ronaldo and his family.

After the special tribute which attracted praises across the world, Liverpool went on to beat the dispirited Manchester United side 4-0, making it nine cumulative goals that Liverpool scored against United this season.

On Thursday, April 21, 2022, Ronaldo took to his Instagram page to post a picture of himself, his lover, Georgina Rodriguez, and his five children to announce that his lover and his newborn daughter are home.

In the picture, Ronaldo could be seen carrying the newborn daughter whose name has not been made public yet while his wife was sitting on the bed carrying Ronaldo’s youngest son Mateo on her lap.

Other Ronaldo’s children, Cristiano Jr., Eva, and Alana were seen smiling at the camera to celebrate the homecoming of the newest member of the family.

In the caption, Cristiano Ronaldo wrote: “Home sweet home. Gio and our baby girl are finally together with us.

“We want to thank everyone for all the kind words and gestures. Your support is very important and we all felt the love and respect that you have for our family.

“Now it’s time to be grateful for the life that we’ve just welcomed into this world.”

    What next for Cristiano Ronaldo?

This is the first time Cristiano Ronaldo shared a picture featuring his newborn baby girl. Interestingly, the 37-year-old Portuguese football legend shared the picture on the same day Manchester United announced the appointment of Ajax’s outgoing coach Erik ten Hag as the club’s new manager.

All things being equal, Ronaldo should be available for the Manchester United Premier League game against Arsenal on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Ronaldo would want to use the match which will kick off at 12:30 at the Emirates Stadium to show coach Ten Hag that he deserves a prominent place in his team ahead of the coach’s resumption at the end of this season.

Even though the Portuguese football legend wants to prove that he can still shine at Old Trafford, there are speculations that he might leave United this summer. But his potential destination is not known yet and there is no official statement confirming or debunking the report.

Ronaldo’s contract with United will expire on June 30, 2023, with an option of an extension but the chances of staying at the club until then are looking slim currently.

So far this season, Ronaldo is the only player at Manchester United that has scored 21 goals. The Portugal international scored the goals in 35 games in all competitions. He has also provided three assists this season.
