Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a farewell message to the fans of the Italian Serie A club, Juventus as he exits the club after three years.

The 36-year-old Portuguese football icon took to his Instagram page on Friday, August 27, to share a video showing some of his most exciting moments at the Italian Serie A club.

In the caption of the video, Cristiano Ronaldo recalled how he gave his heart and soul for Juventus and how the club is already a part of his history.

He wrote: “Today I depart from an amazing club, the biggest in Italy and surely one of the biggest in all of Europe,” he said on Instagram.

“I gave my heart and soul for Juventus and I’ll always love the city of Turin until my final days.

“The ‘Tifosi bianconeri’ always respected me and I tried to thank that respect by fighting for them in every game, every season, every competition. In the end, we can all look back and realize that we achieved great things, not all that we wanted, but still, we wrote a pretty beautiful story together.

“I will always be one of you. You are now part of my history, as I feel that I’m part of yours. Italy, Juve, Turin, Tifosi bianconeri, you’ll always be in my heart.”

Cristiano Ronaldo had a season left on his contract with Juventus but decided not to wait until the contract ends on June 30, 2022, before he exits the club.

He told the club he wanted to leave and executed it peacefully on Friday morning when he drove to the club’s training ground to clear his locker and bade farewell to his teammates at the club.

Few hours after that day he booked a flight to his hometown, Lisbon in Portugal to await the outcome of the negotiations with his potential new club.

At that point, it was looking like Ronaldo would join Manchester City, the rivals of his former club, Manchester United. Fans of United including the club’s legends began to kick against it and made moves to ensure that they change the tide.

Before the end of Friday, August 27, 2021, Manchester United confirmed that they have reached an agreement to resign Ronaldo who played at the club between 2003 and 2009.

During that period, Ronaldo played 292 times for Manchester United in all competitions. He scored 118 goals and provided 69 assists for the Premier League club.

The 36-year-old Portuguese football icon helped the club to win multiple major trophies including the UEFA Champions League and three Premier League titles.

The Red Devils paid Juventus €15 million including add-ons worth about €8 million to bring Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.

Before he decided to stop playing for Juventus which he joined on July 10, 2018, for a transfer fee worth €117 million, Ronaldo scored 101 goals for the Italian club and provided 22 assists in all competitions.

Though he could not help Juventus to win the much-desired UEFA Champions League title, he was able to help them win two Serie A titles and Coppa Italia in three years.
