The Dutchman won the Eredivisie title with Ajax in midweek and is expected to take over from interim manager Ralf Rangnick following the Premier League season’s last match at Crystal Palace on Sunday 22 May.

Ronaldo will be looking to add to his 18 league goals this season since his return to Old Trafford, and he is well aware of Ten Hag’s excellent work in the Netherlands.

“What I know about him is he did a fantastic job for Ajax, that he’s an experienced coach,” said Ronaldo in an exclusive interview. “But we need to give him time.

“Things need to change the way he wants.

“I hope we have success, of course, because, if you have success, all of Manchester is going to have success as well. I wish him the best.

“We are happy and excited, not only as players but the supporters as well.

“I wish him the best and let’s believe that, next year, we are going to win trophies.”

The Premier League’s Player of the Month for April 2022 is Cristiano Ronaldo.

Despite having a poor season with the Reds, the 37-year-old scored five goals in four Premier League games last month, including a magnificent hat-trick against Norwich City at Old Trafford that guided us to a thrilling 3-2 victory.

Ronaldo’s 100th Premier League goal came in a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal, making him the fourth United player to achieve the century mark in the division, behind Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, and Wayne Rooney.
