Reactions have continued to trail Manchester United’s masterclass performance against Arsenal in their Premier League matchday six fixture. Manchester United ended the Gunners’ and Mikel Arteta’s unbeaten run by hammering them 3-1 at Old Trafford.

Mikel went into the match with a brilliant record. Before their trip to Old Trafford, Arsenal have not lost or drawn any game since the preseason. They have won all their preseason matches, including their five opening Premier League games.

Premier League and London rivals casualty were one of the casualties of Arsenal’s fiery front line. They hammered the Blues 4-0 at the Florida cup final. Six times UEFA Europa League Champions, Sevilla, were also victims as they fell by an astonishing 6-0 scoreline.

Mikel Arteta had to test his invincibility against a resurgent Manchester United squad who have gone three matches unbeaten after suffering two shock opening defeats to Brighton and Brentford.

Despite a perfect record since preseason and a well-blended and articulated squad, Mikel Arteta was a no match for the Dutch tactician. Manchester United defied Arsenal’s pressure and unleashed threats when going on the counter-attack.

Antony proved worthy of his £85m transfer after he opened the scoring on his debut for the Old Trafford club. That would have been an equalizer if Martinelli’s goal was not ruled out after the VAR check. Saka had set up the 21-year-old Brazilian forward, who sped up and fired into the net. The goal was ruled out after VAR confirmed a foul by Odegaard on Christian Eriksen in the build-up to the goal.

Two quick goals in the space of nine minutes by Marcus Rashford sealed the victory for the Red Devils as Ten Hag cruised to a crucial win over hard-fighting Arsenal.

Cristiano Ronaldo came off the bench in the second half to replace Antony, making five cameo appearances out of Man United’s six matches. Despite a struggle to break into Erik Ten Hag’s first team, the Portugal international has issued a message to Man United teammates and supporters after the match.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Ronaldo wrote, ‘Well done, lads! And a very special thank you to our supporters. Let’s go, Devils.’

Meanwhile, Man United fans had called for Ronaldo to be included in the starting lineup in subsequent matches.

Cristiano Ronaldo has recorded improved performance and work rate in the game against Southampton, triggering the call for him to be included in the starting lineup.

New signing and former Ajax star Antony has not hidden his admiration for the Man United, Real Madrid, and Juventus legend. The former Ajax talisman referred to Ronaldo as his idol.

After scoring in his debut match for Manchester United and being replaced by Cristiano Ronaldo, Antony took to his Instagram story to post a picture of when Ronaldo replaced him. He tagged the Portuguese star and captioned the picture “Idol”.

Manchester United will host Real Sociedad in their opening 2022/23 Europa League fixture on Thursday, 8th September 2022, and will travel to take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in their next Premier League fixture.
