Cristiano Ronaldo held talks with Bayern Munich chiefs last week as he hoped to escape from Manchester United in the January transfer window in a bid to play in the Champions League.
In an interview, the former Real Madrid star stated that he had been betrayed by his beloved club upon his return last season, where he scored 24 goals in all competitions.
According to the Daily Mail, the Portuguese star and his agent Jorge Mendes met Bayern Munich chiefs as they flew to England in the hope of getting the player from Manchester United.
Mendes made a valiant effort to lure Ronaldo away from United in the summer by pitching him to Bayern and a number of other teams, including Chelsea, Sporting Lisbon, and Napoli. Last month, Mendes also spoke with Newcastle.
Oliver Khan, the chief executive of Bayern, stated in July that they had looked into signing Ronaldo but decided against it because of the club’s “concept.”
The Germans were hesitant to pay the player’s £500,000 weekly salary after spending £35 million on Sadio Mane from Liverpool to replace Robert Lewandowski.
Bayern, though, has rekindled their interest in light of Mane’s physical worries and Eric Maxim Choupo-uncertain Moting’s future.

Ronaldo is capable of disrupting the team, and this can lead to the sacking of Potters. The former Brighton manager is trying everything possible not to get sacked, even after recent performances at the club.

In a recent interview, Erik Ten Hag had stated he does not want Cristiano Ronaldo to disrupt the peace of the club. Nigeria International Victor Osimhen had been on Manchester United radar as a possible Ronaldo’s replacement.
The club is also looking forward to signing Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid and also Ducan Vlanhovic from Juventus to make them finish better this season.
Since all these transfers are unrealistic, hence, Manchester United may play till the end of the Season with Fragile Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford as strikers.
