Cristiano Ronaldo stoked reactions with a two-word social media post after Manchester United suffered a late dramatic defeat against Chelsea in the Premier League.

United needed a win against the Blues to keep tabs on Champions League qualification but failed asunder in the final minutes of the game.

Chelsea had gone into the lead through Conor Gallagher in the 4th minute before Cole Palmer added to the tally, converting a spot kick to double the lead.

United fought back to make it 2-2 before the break, thanks to goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandez.

Garnacho scored again in the second half to hand United the lead. The Red Devils were closing in on victory when two quickfire goals from Cole Palmer turned the game on its head.

The prolific England youngster converted his second spot kick of the night to make it 3-3 before he scored from a deflection on McTominay to make it 4-3.

It was another nightmare encounter for the Red Devils but a big reprieve for under-pressure gaffer Mauricio Pochettino who ended Chelsea’s winless run against United since 2017.

A few minutes after United’s loss to the Blues, Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo dropped a two-word post on his X handle.

Posting footage of himself relaxed and engrossed on his mobile phone with a smile, Ronaldo wrote, ”happy days.”

While the post made no reference to United’s defeat to Chelsea, some fans noted the timing of the post and interpreted it as a dig at his former club.

Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United in November 2022 after his acrimonious fallout with manager Erik ten Hag and the club’s hierarchy.

The iconic footballer joined Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia and has been top of his game for the club. We reported earlier the Portuguese scored back-to-back hat-tricks for Al-Nassr taking his total hat-trick tally to 65.

He is currently leading the race for the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot with 29 goals.
