Jorge Mendes, the super-agent handling transfer issues for Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo was in the United Kingdom to have a chat with the Portuguese star.

Reports claimed that the agent flew to England to have a crisis meeting with Cristiano Ronaldo over his future at Manchester United. The 36-year-old Portuguese football icon is reportedly not happy with the situation of things at Old Trafford and he is considering the next point of action.

It is believed that the way things are going at Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo’s return at the club might end in a disaster. Hence, Ronaldo is trying to avoid the potential disaster.

Recall that the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner was at Manchester United between 2003 and 2009 before he left for Real Madrid for a record transfer fee. He joined Juventus in 2018 and left the club for Manchester United in August 2021.

Manchester United were expected to be a better team after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo but things have not worked out perfectly for the team and Ronaldo especially in the Premier League.

So far this season, Manchester United have recorded 6 defeats, 4 draws, and 9 wins in 19 Premier League games. The poor performance has pushed the club down to the 7th spot on the league table.

Currently, Manchester United need five points to overtake the 4th placed Arsenal, and they have no chance of overtaking the first-placed Manchester City that is leading the league table with 53 points in 21 games.

The performance of Manchester United as a team is affecting the ratings of Cristiano Ronaldo. He failed to win the 2021 Ballon d’Or, he did not make it to the top three in The Best FIFA Awards’ player of the year for the first time in his career.

Since he returned to Manchester United last summer, the 36-year-old Portuguese football icon has scored 14 goals and provided three assists in 22 games in all competitions. But that seems not to be enough to make him the stand-out football star that he always want to be.

The Portugal international is a serial winner who loves to win. Unfortunately for him, the current setup of Manchester United is not like a team determined enough to win titles. Hence, Ronaldo might suffer more woes in terms of individual awards if the club continues to struggle.

According to a report by The Sun, the discussion Ronaldo had with his agent was an open one that did not rule out any possibility.

The report also claimed that the Portuguese football icon is not a big fan of the tactics the club’s interim coach, Ralf Rangnick has been trying to establish at the club.

“Jorge came to see him and they spent time chatting through how things are going, what they think are the problems, how they might be solved, and what the solutions may be”, a source told the Sun.

    “Nothing has been ruled out.”
