Cristiano Ronaldo is set to to file a legal suit against Juventus to claim his unpaid wages from the club but what really happened between the football ace and the Old Ladies?
Ronaldo Vs Juventus case can be traced back to 2019 during the COVID-19 pandemic when the club’s financial doping scandal began. Juventus have already suffer near-death blows due to the financial scandal which was linked to Cristiano Ronaldo, and other players.
In March 2023, it was revealed that Ronaldo had reached a secret agreement with Juventus in 2020 to defer a portion of his salary during the COVID-19 pandemic. This agreement was not disclosed to the public or to Juventus’s shareholders. The agreement was part of a scheme to conceal Juventus’s true financial situation.
Ronaldo was not charged with any crime in connection with the Juventus case. However, if he was to be found as complicit in any wrongdoing, he could have face a number of sanctions, including a fine, suspension, or even a ban from football.
Juventus were deducted 15 points from the Serie A table as punishment for its role in the financial scandal. The club also lost several key executives, including president Andrea Agnelli and vice-president Pavel Nedved.
Now, the Manchester United and Real Madrid legend has decided to take the matter to court to compel Juventus to pay the deferred wages.
