Cristiano Ronaldo said he does not like his 10-year-old son, Cristiano Jr., to drink coke, sodas and eat crisps because he wants him to be a successful footballer. He however insisted that he would not force him to be a footballer.

Cristiano Jr. is Ronaldo’s first child of four children. He was born on 17 June 2010 in the United States. He has been training to be a footballer since his father was playing for Real Madrid.

His 35-year-old Portuguese football registered him with Real Madrid football academy until 2018. When Ronaldo left Real Madrid to join Juventus in 2018, Cristiano Jr. joined Juventus academy where he has been training and playing.

Ronaldo has been taking Cristiano Jr. on almost all football awards that he has been attending in the last five years. This is seen as one of the ways to make the youngster embrace the game more.

Besides the outings with the youngster, he has been seen working out with Cristiano Jr. in gyms, outdoors, and even in stadiums.

“Sometimes he drinks coke, sodas and eats crisps and he knows it makes me angry,” Ronaldo said.

“Sometimes I tell my son after a run on the treadmill to dive into the cold water to recover and he says: ‘Dad, it’s so cold there.’ That’s fine, it is normal, he is only 10 years old.”

Cristiano Ronaldo said he believes that his son, Cristiano Jr. has the potential to be a great footballer. He noted that his son is fast and can dribble. He stressed that he always told the youngster that talent is not enough but hard work and dedication are needed to become a successful footballer.

Despite admitting that he wants Cristiano Jr. to be a footballer, he insisted that he does not pressure the 10-year-old to become one.

“We’ll see if my son will become a great footballer,” Ronaldo said. “He has potential. He is fast and dribbles well, but that is not enough. I always tell him that it takes work and dedication to have success.

“I won’t pressure him to become a footballer, but if you ask me if I want him to, yes I would like it. The most important thing is to become the best at whatever he does, whether it is as a footballer or a doctor.”

Though Cristiano Ronaldo did not have a father as successful as he is that guided him to become a footballer, the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner ended up becoming one of the greatest footballers in the world.

He started his pursuit of becoming a world-class footballer very early just like his son. But his stardom took shape when he joined Manchester United in 2003. From there, he joined Real Madrid in 2009 after winning almost everything in European club football including a Ballon d’Or.

After spending 9 successful years at Real Madrid, winning 4 more Ballon d’Or, he left the Spanish giants and joined Juventus where he has continued to be one of the greatest footballers playing the round leather game.
