Callum Hudson-Odoi of Chelsea would not forget 2020 in a hurry as he encountered one of the worst nightmares that can possibly hit a person. It is better to imagine what was running through his mind when the doctor announced to him that he has been tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus pandemic.

When a person is tested positive for a disease that has infected over 823,626 people and has killed over 40,598 within the space of three months, it is always a tight corner to fall into in one’s lifetime.

However, Hudson-Odoi has grown from being a subject of sadness to a subject of inspiration as the 19-year-old England International marched through it and recovered from it within three weeks.

The star told Chelsea official website that he is “perfect” and he can’t wait to get into the thick of the footballing action whenever it resumes.

“I am feeling perfect. I had the virus which has cleared now. I fully feel good, I feel fit, so I am feeling back to myself so it is all good”, he told Chelsea website.

While appreciating those who sent him well wishes when he was down with the virus, Hudson-Odoi said when the infection started in his body, he thought it was a minor temperature.

The Chelsea Star said: “I had it [coronavirus] three weeks ago now I think, on a Monday when I felt a bit hot. The next day I was feeling back to normal. I thought it was just a minor temperature thing, but obviously, it wasn’t…

“Everything is happening so fast and I did not know this virus would be such a major thing and so big in the world and affect so many people.

“Everyone has to be careful and judge things how they go and hopefully the virus will go soon and everyone will be back to normal…

“We want to be out there playing football and we want to enjoy what we are doing and we want the fans to be enjoying everything with us.”

On international football, Hudson-Odoi is hoping that when the pandemic is over and the preparation for the Euros 2020 which has now been postponed until 2021 due to the pandemic, starts, he would be among the players that will be selected to represent England.

So, as he is now back to his feet and everything football is still on hold, his daily routines would be geared towards keeping himself in shape for England boss Gareth Southgate.

“The Euros is a massive thing and I have a big belief in myself and hopefully I will be able to get into the team”, he said.

“I just want to make sure that I keep pushing myself every game and every minute and making sure that I keep trying to score goals and make assists and keep trying to help the team as much as possible to get what we want, which is a trophy at the end of the day”, he added.
