England saw their 2022 World Cup hopes end in a dramatic fashion as they lost their quarterfinal game against France.

Les Bleus were clearly the better side, creating some series of chances and making two of them count – enough to bundle out the Three Lions.

The team fell to the same opponent, but this time, it was a step less than what they had achieved in the tournament’s last edition.

Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni opened the scoring for France before Harry Kane leveled it from a penalty spot after Tchouameni brought down Bukayo Saka in the penalty spot.

France went ahead again, with former Chelsea and Arsenal star Olivier Giroud scoring his fourth goal at the World Cup after he perfectly beat Harry Maguire to head home Antoinne Griezman’s long looping cross.

England got a penalty again – a perfect opportunity to level the game again, but this time, Harry Kane fired it wide off the crossbar.

The match ended in a 2-1 win for France, while the Gareth Southgate-led team crashed out of the quarterfinal.

After the World Cup exit, players and the coaching crew departed Qatar, with some players using the opportunity to take a break from the World Cup rigors of trainings and match fevers.

Chelsea star Conor Gallagher is among the players that have appeared to get over the World Cup exit and settled for a leisure time with her partner, Aime May.

However, out of the five matches England played at the tournament, Conor Gallagher did not make an appearance throughout the tournament.

England qualified from their group as Group winners after dismantling Iran, drawing with the USA, and demolishing Wales.

After qualifying as group winners, the Three Lions met and eliminated Senegal in the round of 16 to set up a quarterfinal clash with France, which they lost.

On Sunday, the team returned to England as they prepare for the return of top-flight football in Europe, including the Premier League.

While other players braced up to join their team training sessions, Conor Gallagher was spotted having a pleasant time with his partner Aime May.

The midfielder went with stunning 23-year-old Wag Aime May to the Alps, where he enjoyed a helicopter ride.

The happy couple also enjoyed a cabin candle-lit dinner before hitting the ski slopes.

The two love birds flooded their social media handle with images of the hangout. It was absolutely gorgeous.

They are currently living together in London with their Chow Chow puppy, Freddy. Born in County Cork, Ireland, Aime May, 23, a social media influencer, moved to London to pursue a career as a professional dancer. May has joined her footballer lover on trips abroad to places like Paris, Portugal, and Hollywood, as well as copious amounts of adorable snaps of their dog Freddy.

During matches, Aime May Kennedy always makes it to the stands in the stadium to cheer his loved ones and his team to victory.

Meanwhile, Aime May is among the few England players’ lovers who did not join their lovers in the World Cup.

Gareth Southgate surprisingly included Conor Gallagher in his World Cup squad despite the latter struggling to find his form at Chelsea. However, the coach didn’t use the midfielder in the tournament.

Note that Chelsea will play their first Premier League game post-World Cup on December 27 at home to Bournemouth.
