Cole Planer set five Premier League records in 6-0 win over Everton

Cole Palmer reached a career milestone as he etched his name into the Premier League record books with his four-goal haul.

According to Opta, Palmer broke a 20-year-old Premier League record set by former Nigeria international Yakubu Aiyegbeni in the Premier League.

The England international became the first young player at the age of 21 years, 345 days, to score 4+ goals in the Premier League after Aiyegbeni attained the feat in 2017 for Portsmouth at age 21, 175 days.

Palmer also broke a 10-year record at Chelsea held by Chelsea legend Frank Lampard. He became the second Chelsea player to score 4+ goals in a single match for the Blues after Lampard against Aston Villa in 2010.

He also became the first Chelsea player to score a first-half hat-trick. No Chelsea player in the club’s history has ever scored a first-half hat-trick, as per Opta.

Additionally, Cole Palmer unearthed Didier Drogba’s record with his four-goal haul. In May and August 2010, Didier Drogba became the first Chelsea player to score back-to-back hat-tricks in home Premier League games for Chelsea. Palmer has now added his name to the legendary record as he becomes the second Chelsea player to attain the feat 14 years later.
