Christopher Nkunku: Incoming Chelsea Forward Thanks RB Leipzig Fans After Winning Golden Boot In Bundesliga

Chelsea are putting everything in place to officially announce and unveil Christopher Nkunku, who is expected to be their newest lethal addition to their attacking department this season.

Reports in January revealed that Chelsea had already agreed a deal with RB Leipzig for the transfer of Nkunku and he would join up with the Blues after the expiration of his deal with the German side in June.

Christopher Nkunku won the German Bundesliga golden boot despite missing nine matches this campaign due to injury.

He netted a brace in RB Leipzig’s 4-2 victory over Schalke last Saturday to take his goal tally to 16 goals in total.

After Leipzig’s win over Schalke which was their last game of the campaign, the Frenchman took to Instagram to appreciate RB Leipzig’s supporters in view of the DFB-Pokal final next Saturday.

He posted a picture of himself holding the top scorer’s gong after he scored the most goals this season alongside Niclas Fullkrug.

RB Leipzig play Eintracht Frankfurt on the 3rd of June and that game is expected to be Nkunku’s last game in the colours of the German side.

After playing his final game for The Red Bulls, he would then complete a deal estimated to be within the region of Β£52 – 54 million to join Chelsea.

Mauricio Pochettino is understood to be requesting for a new striker this summer which might probably be alongside Christopher Nkunku.

Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku is also set to make a comeback to Chelsea this summer after the expiration of his loan deal with Inter Milan.

Christopher Nkunku joined RB Leipzig from Paris Saint Germain in 2019 for an estimated €13 million in addition to bonuses.

He has gone on to score 69 goals in 171 appearances for the side. In total Nkunku, has scored 85 goals in 276 appearances.
