The Danish footballer collapsed on the pitch and had to be given an emergency CPR on the pitch for minutes just before halftime. It was reported that the former Tottenham Hotspur star who currently plays for Inter Milan, developed a cardiac arrest during the game.

After he was given CPR on the pitch, Christian Eriksen was rushed to Denmark’s Rigshospitalet where he is currently responding to treatment. The hospital is located a mile away from Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, Denmark, where the match took place.

In a statement issued by the Danish FA, the football association confirmed that the footballer was in a stable condition and had sent his greetings to his national teammates.

The statement posted on Twitter by Danish FA read: “This morning we have spoken to Christian Eriksen, who has sent his greetings to his teammates.

“His condition is stable, and he continues to be hospitalized for further examination.

“The team and staff of the national team have received crisis assistance and will continue to be there for each other after yesterday’s incident.

“We would like to thank everyone for the heartfelt greetings to Christian Eriksen from fans, players, the Royal Families from both Denmark and England, international associations, clubs, etc.

“We encourage everyone to send their greetings to the Danish FA, where we will make sure they are all passed on to Christian and his family.”

Due to Christian Eriksen’s medical condition, the Danish players and coaching crew have canceled all their planned media activities for Sunday. The team would not train on Sunday to give the players time to process the present situation of the 29-year-old attacking midfielder.
