Nottingham Forest sensation Chris Wood has won the Premier League player for October following his standout performances for the club in the month.

The New Zealand forward was on top of his game with the Tricky Trees, playing a crucial role as Nottingham Forest put up a solid Premier League showing in the month.

Breaking down his performances in the month, Chris Wood was on target for Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge in the first Premier League match in the month. 

He scored in the 49th minute for the away side to race them into the lead before Chelsea leveled proceedings through Noni Madueke in the 57th minute.

His goal saw Nottingham Forest earned a vital point away from home against the high-flying Chelsea side.

In the club’s second match in the month against Crystal Palace on October 21, Chris Wood was again on target, scoring the only goal as the team defeated Palace at City Ground.

His goal made all the difference as they ran out with a deserved 1-0 lead to clinch all three points and continue their fairy tale rise under Espirito Santos.

In his last match in the month, Chris Wood was on target again for the third consecutive fixture against Leicester City on Friday, October 25.

After Jamie Vardy scored in the 22rd minute to cancel out Yates’ 16th minute lead for Forest, Chris Wood scored a second-half double in the 47th and 60th minute to seal a dramatic 3-1 victory for Nottingham Forest.

Chris Wood is now the first Nottingham Forest player to win the Premier League Player of the Month, per Premier League.

The brace saw the 31-year-old ramped his tally for the month to four goals in three matches with his overall tally this season reaching 8 goals in 10 games.

Espirito Santo wins Premier League Manager of the Month

While Chris bagged Premier League Player of the Month Award, his coach and Nottingham Forest boss Espirito Nuno Santo won the Manager of the Month Award.

Santo, who previously managed Al-Ittihad and won the Saudi Pro League before being sacked in 2023, is acing it in the dugout at City Ground. In his first season with the club, he struggled to keep the team in the top flight and survived relegation by a needle inch.

This season, he has recorded tremendous strides with the team. For the first time in Nottingham Forest history, they won a Premier League fixture over Liverpool at Anfield under the watch of Espirito Nuno Santo.

The win for Forest has been Liverpool’s only defeat this season, delineating the strength of the Nottingham Forest project under Santo.

The Portuguese reached his peak month in October, leading Nottingham Forest to amass 7 points from three games. He opened his campaign in the month with a draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Noni Madueke scored the equalizer for Chelsea after Chris Wood had put Nottingham Forest ahead in the 49th minute. After Chelsea’s draw, Espirito Santo won the following two matches against Crystal Palace and Leicester City.

He has also won his first Premier League match in November, defeating West Ham United 3-0 to make it three straight victories for the Tricky Trees and catapult the team to third spot on the Premier table with 19 points.
