Chelsea have confirmed the signing of 18-year-old England youth player, Omari Kellyman, from Aston Villa.
The London outfit announced the signing of the young midfielder in an official statement shared on the club’s website.
“Chelsea is pleased to confirm the signing of Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa,” the club statement reads.
The club statement adds Kellyman has signed a six-year contract with the club till 2030 with a 2031 option. He is expected to begin his career journey with the club, joining the club’s pre-season preparations in July 2024.
“The 18-year-old has signed a six-year contract with the Blues, which includes the option of a further year, and will join his new team-mates for pre-season next month,” the statement adds.
Reacting to his transfer to the Premier League top side, the former Aston Villa youngster expressed his excitement to sign for the club and reiterated his readiness to get started.
‘‘It is fantastic to be standing here as a Chelsea player. It’s a massive club with an amazing history, so it is great to join. It is a dream come true for sure. I’m buzzing to have put on the shirt and can’t wait to get started.’’
Kellyman is Chelsea’s third signing this summer after the arrival of Tosin Aderabioyo from Fulham and signing of Estevao Willian from Palmeiras, who will join the club in 2025 summer.
