Chelsea will reject any loan advances for Romelu Lukaku this summer as they look to sell the striker in a permanent deal.

The Blues are apparently keen on recovering part of the £97.5 million they paid Inter Milan to sign the Belgian in August 2021.

Roma are believed to be interested in re-signing Lukaku, who spent the 2023/24 season on loan at the Italian side.

However, they are unable to meet Chelsea’s asking price, which is said to be about £37 million.

The Stamford Bridge club are aiming to get rid of Romelu Lukaku to get the former Manchester United man’s £325,000-a-week wages off their books.

Moreover, AC Milan and Napoli, who recently confirmed the appointment of ex-Chelsea boss Antonio Conte are also reportedly interested in signing Lukaku.

Italian Clubs Interested In Lukaku Cannot Afford Him

The Italian clubs understood to be keen on signing the attacker have limited finances and they will have to see if Chelsea shift their ground later in the summer transfer window.

Reports indicate that Napoli have tried to propose a swap deal, which will see goal poacher Victor Osimhen move to Stamford Bridge, however, the London side are reportedly uninterested in signing the Nigeria international.

Osimhen is valued above £100 million and he is expected to exit Naples in the summer of 2024, despite about two years left on his current deal with the Neapolitans.

Romelu Lukaku At Chelsea

Meanwhile, Chelsea had agreed with an offer for Romelu Lukaku from Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal last summer but the Belgium international rejected the move due to divergence over salary.

Lukaku is currently in his second stint at the Stamford Bridge side, having initially joined the Blues from Anderlecht on August 8, 2011, for a fee of €15 million.

Romelu Lukaku has over time failed to cut it at Chelsea, resulting in him being loaned to several clubs and ultimately sold.

He has played for several clubs in his career, including; RSC Anderlecht, Everton, West Bromwich Albion, Manchester United, and Inter Milan.

The 31-year-old produced the goods for Roma in the 2023/24 season, scoring 21 goals in 47 appearances, however, he is said to not be fancied by Chelsea.

Cumulatively, Lukaku has made 636 club career appearances, scoring 302 goals and providing 89 assists across all competitions.

Internationally, Romelu Lukaku has scored 83 goals and provided 17 assists in 114 appearances for Belgium.

The former Everton man, who was born on May 13, 2024, in Antwerp, has won several trophies in his career, including; 2 League titles, 1 FIFA Club World Cup, and 1 Coppa Italia.

Lukaku is known for his athleticism, strength, and impressive link-up plays, however, his finishing is wishy-washy despite the enormous number of goals he has scored in his career.
