Chelsea are reportedly ready to bow out of the race to sign prolific Napoli forward Victor Osimhen.
The Nigeria international has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer with two Premier League giants – Manchester United and Chelsea – tightly in the race to sign the 24-year-old.
After Todd Boehly’s £600m splash on transfer market, Chelsea still lacks a frontline striker and has been struggling in front of goals.
Victor Osimhen was linked with the Blues with sources close to the club claiming Osimhen is a top shot in the transfer radar of the Blues as he matches Todd Boehly’s fancy for the Blues’ ideal attacker in age and creativity.
Manchester United were also linked to a move for Victor Osimhen with Erik Ten Hag sleuthing for a frontline attacker that will pair up with Marcus Rashford in Manchester United’s attack.
Both clubs were ready to splash over £100m for Osimhen with the Serie A star keen on acheiving his dream of moving to the Premier League.
Daily Mail reports Napoli wanted about £150m if they must part ways with Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian striker is in the final two years of his Napoli contract. He has a contract with the Series A outfit untill 2025.
