Willian Estevāo is set to take his burgeoning career to Europe as Chelsea finally nailed home an agreement with Palmeiras for the player.
Estevāo, 17, emerged as a top target for Arsenal, Barcelona, and other top clubs in Europe following his impressive outing with Palmeiras and Brazil U-17.
Playing as a winger, Estevāo is known for his dazzling and skillful moves, tricky steps, speed, and technical finesse. While there has been a deluge of interest for the player, Chelsea were in pole position to sign the player.
Close sources reveal the Blues had already met with Estevāo’s representative and had agreed personal terms with the player.
After agreeing on personal terms with the Franca-born football prospect, talks Palmeiras for the player was on the fast lane but there were initial setbacks.
Estevāo had a €35m release clause on his Palmeiras contract but the Brasileiro Serie A champions valued the player in excess of €60.
Chelsea tabled an initial proposal worth €57m for Estevāo, comprising €32 plus €25m as add-ons but were turned down.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues have finally agreed terms with Palmeiras for the youngster having submitted a new offer worth €65m.
The new offer, as accepted by Palmeiras, comprises a €40m transfer fee plus €25m as add-ons.
Despite the progress so far, Futballnews understands Estevāo will not join Chelsea until 2025 when he will turn 18.
The footballing prospect has one goal in 11 appearances for Palmeiras and has scored 3 times in 5 appearances for Brazil U-17.
