German striker Timo Werner was involved in his first session of training with his new club Chelsea on Monday at the blue’s training complex in Cobhams.

The new signing from German club RB Leipzig, signed for a reported fee of  £53million, arrived in England earlier during the weekend as he watched his new club overcome Wolves Hampton Wanderers 2-0 to book their Champions League spot for next season.

Timo Werner, 24, was not involved in a group training session with his teammates, as the Blues boss had given the rest of the senior team a day off after their victory against Wolves on Sunday.

Consequently, the new club addition was allowed to train alone at the training facility with a personal trainer who made sure the striker had plenty of stretching, and fitness before he was further drilled on his dribbling, ball work and finishing skills.

The London club, unfortunately, will not be allowed to use their signings until the next Champions League campaign as they have already featured for their former clubs respectively. But they are allowed to train with their new club and Werner is being put through the same training regiment as the latest addition from Ajax Hakim Ziyech.

Chelsea has been expectedly active in the transfer market following the expiry of their transfer ban this summer. While the addition of Timo Werner is seen as a statement signing as the German striker is one of the most lethal striker in Europe.

Timo Werner  scored 34 goals for his former club, RB Leipzig, in all competition this season as he opted out of the club’s remaining Champions League matches to sign for the Blues to bond with his new club for the next season.

Werner seems to be settling into his newfound environment as he was spotted having a chat with the club’s former goalkeeper and new performance and technical adviser Petr Cech during Sunday’s fixture.

The Blues are still in the market to make big money signings as follow up to the acquisition of the former RB Leipzig striker.

The name of Bayer Leverkusen playmaker is high on the transfer list of the club, as a report has it that personal terms are out of the way and only a transfer fee is left to be agreed upon.

And reports say they are trying to tidy up negotiation with the Bayern club in a bid to fend off competition after they had confirmed their involvement in next season’s Champions League.
