RC Lens have completed the signing of 25-year-old French defender Malang Sarr on a free transfer.
Sarr’s contract with Chelsea was terminated on July 24, 2024, one year before the expiration following a mutual agreement with the club.
Subsequently, Malang Sarr has joined RC Lens after agreeing a two-year deal with the club, which runs until 2026.
There is also the option for an extra year embedded in the deal, meaning he could remain at the French club until 2027.

Confirming the signing of Sarr, RC Lens put out a statement on their website which read:
“A defender with punch! A strong full-back, efficient in the air, and with great experience at the top level, Malang Sarr arrives in Artois.
“The 25-year-old left-hander has signed a two-year contract with Racing until 2026, plus an optional year.”
Sarr had a disastrous spell at Chelsea, failing to get consistent playing time at the club, having joined the team on a free transfer on August 27, 2020.
Malang Sarr made 21 appearances for the London-based club in his nearly five-year stay at the side.
The Frenchman will be hoping to fully accentuate his brilliance at RC Lens, as they aim to achieve relative success in the 2024/25 season.
Sarr has played for several clubs in his stellar career, including; AS Monaco, FC Porto, and OGC Nice.
